OBFG October Meeting / Workshop

Handpainted yarn and handcrafted hardwood needles by Doug Brannon (Outer Banks Needles)

(Pic . . Sybil Ross explaining working with colors in all types of fiber)
The Outer Banks Fiber Guild held it's October montly meeting on Saturday, October 14th. A couple of out of town guests shared their fiber experiences, and even had projects to share for show and tell.

The highlight of the day was the handpainting/dye workshop taught Sybil Ross (Fine Yarns at Kimbeeba). While some of the participants are old hand at dyeing fiber, a couple of members made their first attempt. Sybil did a wonderful job of making everyone feel at ease and confident that they would achieve great results . . which, of course, they did!

Here are some pics . . . Enjoy! (Mouse over and click on pics)

Quilts shown by Mary DeMott(and her husband Rick), visitors from Virginia. Mary's work is availabl at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester, VA (www.shenandoahmuseum.org)
